OUR PROCESS

The process is very simple whether it’s a horsebox interior, horsebox ramp or pickup truck bed.
Firstly we mask up the whole area to protect from overspray,
Our staff are fully trained sprayers so this is usual practice for them. The area to be covered is sanded and cleaned off, painted with a primer and when that has dried we cover the whole area in COAT-X. This is done by mixing 2 components, COAT-X R (resin) with COAT-X H (hardener) through especially designed dispensing equipment having accurate metering pumps for the two components. The surface is touch dry in 10 seconds. We then strip the masking off and clean up. Turnaround of work is very quick because of the touch dry nature of our product.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES FOR COAT-X

The uses of COAT-X are limited only by the imagination of the user. New applications are continually being developed. We have used it to protect from water, urine, disinfectants, slipping on walkways, fairground rides, steps, garden seats, boats, vehicle door handles, dog kennels, wet rooms, horse stables, horse trailers, cow cubicles, play areas, areas that need constant washing down - the list goes on!

If jobs are off site we require a 32 amp 3 phase socket.

THE ENVIRONMENT

COAT-X contains no solvents, its environmentally safe and has no V.O.C’s or C.F.C’s and is not affected by moisture or temperature conditions.

COAT-X IN HORSEBOXES

After 30 years of manufacturing Quality horseboxes and motor sport boxes we kept having the same issues.Rubber sheets or stock board on the horse area walls expands with heat and they look unsightly, the fixing screws also look bad and are a weak point for water ingress.Liquid rubber on the horse area floors looks good at first but is too heavy and shrinks letting water underneath.Rubber horse mats on the horse area floor, again are to heavy and move, they also need removing to dry underneath.
Rubber matting on the horsebox ramps are a major problem, they are very heavy and hard to seal, they need capping all the way around and again this is more weight and another place for water to get in.Carpet on the horsebox ramp has the same problems as rubber mats but with the added disadvantage of only lasting a couple of seasons.
Because of the unique needs of horsebox owners we could see the need for a new solution. Horses pose a unique problem; they place large amounts of weight on a relatively small area and need to feel confident that they will not slip on the way up the ramp. If they are worried from previous slips it becomes a major loading problem, very stressful and dangerous for both horse and owner.
With one product COAT-X has solved all these problems whilst at the same time increasing the quality of our builds. We give a two year warranty on all our horseboxes and have to be confident that the products we use will last and look good for years to come

Coat-X spray on protective coating for commercial vans

We tested many ramp surfaces with various finishes for many months, with over 30 years of experience within the horsebox manufacturing industry we knew what our customers wanted.
Existing ramp coverings ranged from carpet to heavy rubber. However these coverings are problematic when wet, water makes them slippery and it always finds a way under them, this not only makes the ramp heavier and heavier but also starts rust on any steel or aluminum. When you consider the amount of commitment involved in owning a horse one of the most important decisions must be the finish in the horse area and on the ramp!
We have used polyurea spray as a coating in our horseboxes for over two and half years and this has been a real test of the product.

Car door handle

This is a tried and tested system and a very versatile coating product. It offers corrosion resistance, waterproofing as well as abrasion protection. It removes the need for gluing or screwing a wall covering into the horse area and also removes the need for matting on the floor. Because COAT-X is sprayed over the whole ramp surface, walls and floor in the horse area it is completely waterproof. Our granules in the top surface allow grip whilst letting water run underneath. This is the same idea as the tread in tyres that remove water. The finish is extremely neat and looks like new after each power washing.
