Characteristics and essential properties of Coat-X polyurea spray-on protective coating

What is Coat-X

Coat-X is a quality polyurea and is defined as a result of a chemical reaction between an isocyanate and an amine. We mix 2 components, Coat-X R (resin) with Coat-X H (hardener), through especially designed dispensing equipment with accurate metering pumps. Heat and high pressure are used to promote a chemical reaction. Once sprayed the surface is touch dry within 10 seconds.

Coat-X properties and characteristics

Coat-X has many benefits over other products that make it an ideal finish for varied and diverse uses. Water resistance is amongst its most important properties. With under one per cent absorption of water and the lowest rates for moisture vapour transfer, Coat-X is an efficient coating that few products can compete with. As a coating it is a hundred per cent solids. This equates to excellent application properties, including a fast cure time, even at low temperatures. It is not affected by air moisture content, heat or ageing. As a corrosion resistant coating it excels, preventing the transfer of sulphides, chlorides and similar ions which accelerate corrosion. It is flexible with high tensile strength and has resistance to chemicals by stopping ionic passage. Coat-X has good grip and abrasion resistance.
